The Sixers have finally concluded their search for a new head coach.

San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Brett Brown reportedly accepted the job Monday morning. His deal includes four years guaranteed.

Brown kicked off his career with the Spurs back in 2002 as a director of player development, then became an assistant coach in 2006. During his tenure with the team, he won three championships, and just barely missed out on a fourth this last season.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Brett Brown was strongly urged by his associates to not take the Sixers job due to the tough road ahead.

The Sixers have went into complete rebuilding mode and are most likely facing a tough few years ahead as they look towards the future.

However, Brown appears to be the right man for the job.

With his background in player development, Brown is tasked with getting the most out of a young team and potential 2014 lottery picks.
